Mustang is a beautiful trekking destination. A hidden and mysterious kingdom of Nepal was officially opened in 1992 for trekking. The area is a restricted region and a few numbers of trekkers visit this region. You need special permission from the concerned departments to visit this region.

The trekking package mainly focuses on the upper mustang. The trekking region incorporates a fine vantage point Lo Manthang at a height of 3840 meters. We can find very few settlements in this region. The people of this region are highly influenced by the Tibetan Buddhists. They celebrate festivals like Tiji. They have a unique culture and way of living. We can find mainly four major castes in this region. They are royals’ caste, blacksmiths, butchers, and the millers.

Upper Mustang is a blessed creation of nature. Its landscape and natural beauties captivate every traveler. The region is similar to the Tibetan plateau and has semi-desert vegetation. In this trek, you get to explore the beautiful places like Jomsom, Chhuksang, Kagbeni, Chele Lo Manthang, and others. Stunning peaks, appealing artworks, unexplored culture, and tradition, surround this region. The seasonal flower, bushy vegetation and brown and grey cliff makes the journey memorable and outstanding.

We can encounter numerous Gompa and Chortenes besides awe-striking landscapes and cultural diversity on our journey. This trek also gives access to gigantic peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri 8172 meters, Annapurna massif, and Machhapuchhre ranges.

Is previous experience before do Mustang trek?

A visit to Mustang is a special experience. A Stable and good health condition can help you to successfully reach the upper Mustang. Experience is not mandatory but helps you a lot to accommodate with altitude and diverse culture.

Best time to visit mustang:

Well, spring and autumn season is the best time to visit mustang. You can see clear gigantic mountains and landscape during these seasons. The temperature and climate are moderate during day and night. Compare to the summer and winter season, these seasons have very little or no mist or fog. Winter and summer are taken as off-season to visit Mustang. Nevertheless, if you are an adventurous lover then trek to Mustang in winter or summer is not a good idea. Preparation for cold, detailed information and unconditional circumstances like rainfall, snowfall can help you to complete the trek in the off-season as well.
