This trek incorporates you to relish your journey to the hidden gem of Nepal in the backdrop of two huge mountains i.e. Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. Trekking in the Mustang region is a wonderful experience as you set your feet along the deepest gorge of the world i.e. Kali Gandaki gorge. Further, you will admire the captivating views of mountains like Annapurna range, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Himchuli, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Machapuchare, Mt. Tukuche and such other.

The lower Mustang Trek dwells in the southern edges of the Tibetan border and has a similar landscape like that of the Tibetan plateaus – wild, barren and dry. Lower Mustang Trek is also about the vibrant and typical villages that you pass along the way. The sunrise and sunset view amongst the mountains, unique cultural meeting, organic diversity and the famous spiritual center of Hindus and Buddhist i.e. Muktinath.

The first mesmerizing experience of the excursion is the absorbing sunrise view from Poon Hill. The glorious golden sun rays rise above the white mountainous panorama is an amazing experience. Bathe in the natural hot spring at Tatopani will you’re your stress. Similarly, as you catch the trail, you pass some remarkable villages like Ghasa, Marpha, Kagbeni, Jomsom, and others. The cultural exploration and interaction with locals is an amazing way to know about people, lifestyle, culture, and tradition.

Marpha is a popular village for the sweetness of the apple. Jomsom has many hotels, shops, banks, and other government departments.

Muktinath is a religious destination. It is a spiritual hub for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims around the world. The temple has a statue of Lord Bishnu and also accompanied by Gompa.  People take a bath of sacred 108 stone-built water to attain nirvana. The eternal flame out of natural gas at Muktinath has left everyone in wonder.

When is the best time to visit Lower Mustang?

Spring and autumn is the best time to visit Lower mustang. You can also visit another season. Spring and autumn give nice visibility, clear weather than another season. There is a chance of rainfall, snowfall in another season. The temperature is stable, moderate in spring, and autumn.

Day 1

Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International airport.

When you land on Kathmandu valley, our airport representative welcomes you and shortly explain about on your way.

Day 2

Kathmandu Valley Tourism Tour

We will have sightseeing of world-famous heritage sites like Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Pasupatinath temple, and Swayambhunath.

Day 3

Drive to Pokhara via tourist bus from Kathmandu. Duration: 6 hours.

In Pokhara, we will enjoy our leisure time at Fewa Lake. We do boating. The reflection of Mt. Machhapuchre and Annapurna in crystal clear lake Fewa is truly amazing.

Day 4

Drive to Nayapul (1,010 m) and hike to Tikhedhunga (1,570m) Duration: 5 hours.

We will drive from Pokhara to Nayapul for about an hour. After reaching Nayapul, we start our hike along the bank of the Modi River. On our way to Tikhedunga, we will come across Birethanti village. A steep climb following the bank of the BhurungdiKhola will take us toTikhedunga.

Day 5

Trek to Ghorepani (2,850 m) from Tikheduga. Duration: 7 hours.

From Tikhedunga we cross a suspension bridge and then ascend a steep stone staircase that is around 3300. We will reach the village of Ulleri at 2080 meters which is a large Magar community. After Ulleri, we will walk towards Nangethnai where we will take our lunch. Then our tour continues to Ghorepani. Ghorepani encompasses spectacular views of Dhaulagiri I 8167 meters, NLigiri 6950 meters, Anapurna I, and many more.

Day 6

Hike up to Poon Hill (3,210m/10529ft) and trek to Tadapani (1200m) Duration: 7 hours.

This morning, we will set our journey to Poon Hill 3,210m/10529ft).
From this vantage point, we can have an awe-inspiring sunrise view amongst the gigantic peaks. After a quality time at Poon hill, we will make our way Tadapani.

Day 7

Trek to Ghasa (2,120 m) from Tadapani Duration: 7 hours

We trek in the trail that leads us to Kali Gandaki Valley. We will cross a suspension bridge and reach at Dana (1450 meters). We will spend a good time in the RupseChahara/waterfall. Then, we will continue moving towards Ghasa.

Day 8

Trek from Ghasa to Tukuche (2,560 m) Duration: 5 hours

The trail takes us to the Kali Gandaki River. We pass through a narrow gorge and then reach Thakali traditional villages. Today we will trek across the gorge and river several times via long suspension. We will pass via villages like Lete, Kalopani, and Kokhethati. On the way, we can observe the top of Dhaulagiri Mountain.

Day 9

Trek to Kagbeni (2,800 m) from Tukuche. Duration: 5 hours

An easy and lovely trek to Kagbeni, we will first pass the village of Khobang. We will make a short side trip to the Buddhist temple KantiGompa.

Then we mark our journey to Marpha village, popular for apple. From Marpha we will make our way to Jomsom. Making our way via Kaligandaki and passing across the Eklai Bhatti will take us to Kagbeni.

Day 10

Trek to Muktinath (3,800 m). Duration: 4 hours

On the 10th day of our trek, we will mark our journey to Muktinath. This temple is famous for the Buddhist and Hindu religions. Before reaching Muktinath, in between, we will trek across the villages like Khingar, Jharkot, and others. We explore 108 water taps and take bath wishing peace and prosperity in life and others as well.

Day 11

Trek back to Jomsom (2,600 m): 5-6 hours

After the exploration of Muktinath and its surroundings, we will make our way to Jomsom.

Day 12

Flight to Pokhara city. 20-minutes.

We will take an early flight to Pokhara. In Pokhara, we will explore the surrounding like Mahendra cave, Davis’ fall, Few Lake and others.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Duration:7-8 hours.

We will take a scenic drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Day 14

Farewell: fly to your home.

After a short achievement and farewell program on our 13th day of the tour, on the 14th day our representative guides you to the airport for flight.

It was a perfect way to explore a very beautiful part of Nepal. The staffs of Blue Lake Travel and Tours are very kind and they took really good care of us. It was a amazing trip! I definitely recommend this trip and Blue Lake.
