Poon Hill Trek is a short and exciting trek route in the Annapurna region in Nepal. The trek is easy and not so lengthy thus, it is suitable for those who don’t have enough time. The trek fulfills the burning desire to observe and explore the beauty of snow-capped peaks like Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Langtang, Ganesh, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and Annapurna (8,091 m). You can see the stunning view of sunrise and glorious Himalayas ’ views which will be never forgotten moments of your life. You will cross some beautiful mountain rivers on your way to Poon Hill.
Our adventurous route passes some beautiful villages of Ulleri, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk. We will pass dense Rhododendron forests full of beautiful birds and valleys on the way. You will be warmly welcomed by locals with their smiley face and great hospitality. The trek will be a great choice for them who love to vanish for a while within the depth of nature.
The Poon Hill trek takes you to the maximum altitude of 3,210 meters at Poon Hill. Thus, first of all, you must prepare yourself to be protected from altitude sickness. The trek is considered moderate in difficulty level. Although, you have to climb up and down through rocky steps and pass through some risky and narrow sloppy way. The trekker needs to hike four to five hours per day. But do not worry if you are inexperienced. Without any prior experience to mountain climbing or hill trekking, you are capable and strong enough to accept challenges. We have an experienced team to lead you and help whenever you need it.
The best season for Poon Hill Trek is spring and autumn. During these seasons temperature remains moderate both in days and nights. Although, the Poon Hill Trekking route remains busy in every season. We suggest you pack very lightly as you will be carrying your own baggage all day.
We will take early flight to Pokhara and hire jeep to reach Nayapul. We will pass many local villages, rivers, teahouses, green rolling hills, and many local people all the way to Nayapul. Then we start our adventurous trekking to Ulleri and stay overnight there. We will be able to view stunning mountains of Annapurna region on our very first day of trekking.
Most of the day, we will walk through Rhododendron forests. We will be mesmerized with birds tweeting and animals roaring in the jungle.
Today our trekking route follows the uphill path to reach Poon Hill (3210m). You will see the golden moments of sunrise. Also you will see the snow-capped peaks of Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri range. After then we will hike to Tadapani then Ghandruk the Bhaisi Kharka. Ghandruk is Gurung village. You can visit Gurung museum which explores the traditions and ancient cultural activities of Gurung people.
Next day we start our trail from Ghandruk to reach Kimche village which is very close to Machhapuchhre and Annapurna III. Then we descend back to Nayapul through forests and drive back to Pokhara. We will stay tonight at Pokhara.
We will take mountain flight back to Kathmandu. We will stay at a hotel tonight and have a farewell dinner with our team members for your successful journey.
One of our team members will take you to the TIA and you can fly back to your hometown.

The trek was perfectly organized and together with our guide (Lakpa) we had an amazing experience. Even after coming back Blue Lake Travels arranged our car transport back to Kathmandu for us. I would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to do the Poon Hill trek, very friendly staff, and a very well organized trek!
Shivapuri is situated on the northern end of Kathmandu valley and lies about 12 km away from the center...
