Muktinath trek guides you to the Mustang district that lies in the elevation of 3749 meters. Mustang is located in the trans- Himalayan region and is one of the unique trekking destinations in Nepal. Legally, trek to Muktinath was permitted since 1991. The departments of immigration issues access to only a few numbers of trekkers and give the special permit to trek in the Mustang region. It is to protect the local Tibetan tradition and environment as well.

The Mustang district to the southern Tibetan plateau is where the Nepalese high mountains yields. This district offers unique geology and ecology to travelers and visitors. The region is rich in both historic and natural attributes. It offers magnificent places and sites like cave fort, monasteries, temples, and very unique landscapes.

Well-known for the semi-desert area, the region is mesmerizingly surrounded by contrast Himalayas, temples and diverse landscapes. Mustang gets bright together with gigantic mountains like Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, and such others.

Muktinath is well respected and recognized for having sacred pilgrims site. This site is equally important for both Hindus and Buddhists. A priest visiting this temple believes that long ago Guru Ringpche mediated in this temple and achieved nirvana. People bath is the 108 stone spring taps hope to get salvation. In addition, the temple holds the significance of Lord Vishnu and encompasses eternal flame.

Do I need any experience to do this trek? 

Experience helps you to deal as per the situation that you face during trekking. Indeed experiences have a positive point, but to do Muktinath 8 days trek you don’t need any kind of experience. All you need is proper information and guidelines to commence this trek.

What’s the best time to visit?

You can visit Muktinath anytime throughout the year. Spring, autumn, winter, and summer any of these seasons is doable. However, if you want to have the best view of nature, high mountains then autumn and spring is the best time to visit Muktinath, Moreover, day and night during these days have stable temperatures and weather. The sky gets clear and fog and mist also disappear in these seasons.

Itinenary
Day 1

Advent in Kathmandu valley

A representative from blue agency greets you at the airport and guide you to the hotel. On the way, our team member briefly explains the trek details.

Day 2

Drive to Pokhara Duration: 6-7 hours.

We take an early breakfast and make our way to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The scenic flight to Pokhara via bus drives alongside Trishuli River, green hills and terrace.
In the evening, we walk along the lakeside and explore the beauty and nightlife of Pokhara.

Day 3

Fly to Jomsom (2743 meters) from Pokhara and explore Jomsom. Duration: 25-40 minutes

On the third day of our trek, we take a flight to Jomsom. The gigantic backdrop of mount Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri surrounds the Jomsom. It is headquarter of mustang district and has a unique and amazing landscape. We visit the monastery in Jomsom.

Day 4

Trek to Muktinath (3710 meters) and trace back to Jomsom. Duration: 6-7 hours

We start our trek to Muktinath early morning after taking breakfast. On the way to Muktinath, we can see the numbers of an apple tree. The apple of this region is famous all over Nepal as it is delicious. Trekking via Kagbeni to Muktinath, Kabeni is a gateway Muktinath. It has some striking monastery and gompa. After reaching Muktinath, we visit a very sacred and famous Temple. The temple is very prestigious to both Hindus and Buddhists. Many pilgrims visit this temple and take a bath in 108 spring taps with a belief to attain salvation. Equivalently, the temple has an eternal flame arousing from the land. After having a moment of excellence in Muktinath, we trace back to Jomsom via local jeep.

Day 5

Fly back to Pokhara and explore Pokhara. Duration 25-40 minutes.

After having a valuable moment at Jomsom and Muktinath, today we fly back to Pokhara. We take our lunch at Pokhara. Later, we explore the beauty of Pokhara. The busiest tourist hub encompasses beautiful Fewa Lake, Peace Pagoda, Cave, Davis’ fall and such other appealing sites and places. The reflection of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna in Fewa Lake is truly amazing and captivating insights to have.

Day 6

Drive back to Kathmandu valley from Pokhara. Duration: 6-7 hours.

We take a ride via bus to Kathmandu valley. On the way, we can see beautiful villages, rivers, and streams.

Day 7

Kathmandu valley full-day exploration.

Today, we are scheduled to explore some of the UNESCO listed world heritage sites. The sites and ancient and have a high religious value to respective religions. The art and architecture around these sites reflex Nepalese history and religious importance. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swyambhunath are some such sites,
Later, in the evening, we have both successful and farewell dinner. We walk around the Thamel streets and visit one of the pubs or restaurants to entertain ourselves with some music and drinks.

Day 8

Departure time

The final day of our meeting. We escort you to the Airport and exchange your good wishes and goodbyes from the Airport.
