Ghandruk is a mountain village which is located in the Modi Khola Valley towards the north of Pokhara. It is a charming village inhabited by the ethnic Gurung and Magar community which offers the spectacular mountain scenery as well as the rich and unique culture. It still retains the age-old animistic and Shamanism (Jhankri) practices woven in their daily lives. In this village, you see the combined practice of modern Tibetan Buddhism and ancient ‘Bon Po’ religion. This village is the center for the recruitment of the British soldiers. Gurung is famous as the Gorkha Soldier in the British army. In this tour, you can explore the unique Gurung culture and their lifestyle. There you see headquarter of the Annapurna conservation area project. Here you also visit the Traditional Gurung Museum which displays the local traditional clothes and equipment used by the Gurung people. Ghandruk Tour offers the amazing view of the snow cold mountains like Annapurna (8091m.), Annapurna South (7273m.), Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri (6940m.), Machhapuchhre (7059m.), Hiunchuli Peak and many more.
