Annapurna Sunrise Trek takes you the world’s tenth highest peak. It is also famously known as Poon Hill Trek. When you come to Poonhill you get the best view of the Annapurna massif. This trek is easier following paths through villages in the heart of the Annapurna range. The entire mountain covers 55 km.  long section of Himalayas in the central part of Nepal. From the entire peaks, thirteen additional peaks are above 7000 m. and sixteen of them are over 6000 m.  Annapurna is a Sanskrit word meaning “abundance of food” it is translated as the Goddess of the Harvests. Most of the trekkers visit the Annapurna region.

The area is easily accessible with guesthouses and teahouses. Diverse scenery, rhododendron covered forest, terraced hill trails to a beautiful Gurung village are some of the places we come across in our journey. At first, trekking begins from Naya Pul a short drive from Pokhara.  We will be trekking along to Ulleri and Ghorepani, reaching towards our final destination of Poon Hill (3210m) which is a wonderful experience the best sunrise viewpoint from the nation. Autumn (September – November) and Spring (March-May) is the best season for trekking and mountaineering in Nepal.  The weather is mostly clear and the temperature is moderate which offers pleasant sightseeing without any obstruction. You can see beautiful flowers, plants, and rare animals.

The routes of the trek are interesting it tests your physical abilities and energy levels. It is also an emotionally fulfilling experience it is designed for solo travelers but students, families, women can also enjoy this trek. This is graded as an easy trek to enjoy sunrise along with staying in the beautiful city of Nepal. It is not only famous in the morning but also during the afternoon for golden sunset views. Make sure that you carry warm clothes because it is windy up there and doesn’t forget cameras and webcams for recording videos or clicking photos.

Itinenary
Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu [1300 m/4264 ft]

You arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu as one of the representatives of will be there to receive you. After your airport check-up formalities, you will be led directly to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2

Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Tour of World Heritage Sites, Durbar Square of Basantapur, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists’ shrine (Boudhanath).

Day 3

Fly to Pokhara [823 m/2,700 ft] and Trek to Ulleri [2050 m/6725 ft]

On this day, we will take a short flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The flight is just of 30 minutes. We will go to Nayapul in a bus., we cross the Modi Khola (river) and climb to the village of Ulleri. The trek of this day ends at this village.

Day 4

Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani [2750 m/ 9020 ft]: 4 - 5 hrs. trek

From Ulleri towards Ghorepani. From Ghorepani, incredible views of the Annapurna Range and some of tallest mountains of the world can be seen. Our overnight in one of the lodges in Ghorepani.

Day 5

Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill and then to Tadapani [2700 m/8,860 ft]: 6 - 7 hrs

Climb to the top of Poon Hill (3210 m/10,529 ft) to watch the morning sunrise over the Annapurna Mountain ranges. View of the more than 20 snow-capped peaks, beauty of Mustang and Pokhara is visible from this hill. Return back to Ghorepani for breakfast. After breakfast, we start our journey again for Tadapani. Into forests of rhododendron and waterfalls. Our overnight at Tadapani.

Day 6

Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk [1940 m/6360 ft]: 3 - 4 hrs

Ghandruk is a little Gurung village (Gurung is one of the ethnic tribes of Nepal) overlooking the valley. The trail now makes a steep descend as we make our way back to Pokhara. Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli can be observed. Gurung museum also in Ghandruk.

Day 7

Ghandruk to Pokhara: 4 hrs trek and 1 hr drive

We make our way to Naya Pul. From Naya Pull, we will catch a bus and drive back towards Pokhara. Visit the famous Fewa Lake and boating in this beautiful lake. Our overnight stay will be in Pokhara.

Day 8

Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu: 30 min flight

In the afternoon we will be taking a flight, and return back to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will drop you to your designated hotel. In the evening, our company will provide a farewell dinner Our overnight will be in a hotel in Thamel.

Day 9

Final departure from Kathmandu

This day is marks as the last day of your stay in Nepal. Depending on the schedule of your flight, our representative will take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure to your homeland.
