Lumbini is one of the most important religious sites in the world. The Lumbini tour is the Buddhist pilgrimage tour to the birthplace of Buddha which provides the chance to get insight into the life of Lord Buddha and the development of Buddhism. According to the Legend, Maya Devi gave birth to Gautam Buddha on her way to her parent’s home in May in the year 642 BC under a Sal tree. Lumbini is the center of holy faith for the millions of Buddhists all over the world where thousands of tourists visit every year. Buddhists believe that they have to visit Lumbini at least once in their lifetime. It is the best destination for those who love peace and prosperity.

The main attraction of the Lumbini tour is the Lumbini Garden, Maya Devi temple, Ashoka pillar, Puskarini pond, Devadaha, and Ramagrama, etc. In Lumbini, more than 60 archaeological sites preserve the significance of the life, Enlightenment, and death of Buddha. In this tour, you see the beautiful Monasteries and Temples around this holy place. There you see the Ashoka Pillar which was erected by Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC to commemorate his pilgrimage to this holy place. The inscription on the pillar proves that Buddha was born in Lumbini. You visit the Maya Devi temple which is dedicated to the mother of Lord Buddha- Maya Devi. In the temple, you see many sculptures and the carving figures and designs.  To the south of the Ashoka Pillar, you see the holy Puskarani pond where Maya Devi had a bath before giving birth to Buddha. You also visit the Lumbini garden where Buddha was born under a Sal tree. You can combine the Lumbini tour with the Chitwan tour which lies on the way to Lumbini from Kathmandu.
